As increasing percentages of students with disabilities are educated in inclusive settings, there is a growing recognition that arts educators are at the forefront of inclusive practice. This is in no small part because the arts setting offers unique opportunities to naturally employ multi-modal and differentiated instructional strategies—strategies that promote social, artistic, and academic inclusion and the individualized instruction that is required under special education law.
