David Bromberg took up guitar at age 13 and studied musicology at Columbia University, but it was the downtown clubs and coffeehouses of the mid-1960s Greenwich Village folk scene where he really perfected his craft, watching and learning from performers like his inspiration and teacher, Reverend Gary Davis.
