Uncorked Tasting Room and Wine Bar

 The passion for wine developed rapidly after Ron Wight, a native Texan, relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2000. His proximity to the Northern California wine country offered a unique opportunity to experience the wonders of wine culture on a frequent and consistent basis. Once he caught the bug, his thirst for knowledge and experience proved insatiable pushing him to extend his wine explorations worldwide, including wine trips to: all of the major wine regions of California, Washington, Oregon, Texas, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Argentina and South Africa.

After a 12-year career in the IT business consulting industry, the lure of the wine industry could be deferred no longer and, consequently, Ron enrolled in the Certified Wine Professional (CWP) program at the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, California culminating in a CWP certification (September, 2006). While building the business from the ground up, Ron has consulted on wine menus from local restaurants in Austin.
