Melanated Chrysalis is the story of one person’s experience inside the cocoon — encouraging others to be comfortable in their discomfort during metamorphosis. Whether it’s breaking through generational cycles, mental/physical limitations, or societal stereotypes, when artists embrace their personal metamorphosis, they can inspire a community. Come celebrate transformation with Ashe Arts as we embrace the culture Austin was built upon, and preserve it in the midst of Austin’s own metamorphosis.

Written + choreographed by Sadé M. Jones, and co-written + directed by Zell Miller III, Melanated Chrysalis presents recognizable stories being expressed by people from within the community on stage. One night only, December 9th at 8pm at the The Boyd Vance Theatre – George Washington Carver Museum.
