3rd Annual Changing the Story Luncheon

Presented by African American Youth Harvest Foundation at Holiday Inn Midtown

The African American Youth Harvest Foundation (AAYHF), a non-profit organization working to advocate, strengthen, and provide culturally competent family centered educational, health and human services, and economic development opportunities to at-risk populations that reside throughout the Greater Austin Area, will host their Annual Changing the Story Luncheon; one of Austin’s signature community engagement luncheons and premier social events. In its 3rd year, the luncheon will be held at the Holiday Inn Midtown, and will honor community leaders for their contributions to Austin area at-risk youth. The honorees this year include: Honorable Wilhelmina Delco, the first African American elected to the Austin Independent School District Board of Trustees and a founding member of Austin Community College, Dell Inc., one of the most influential technology corporations in its industry, Mikaila Ulmer, ABC’s Shark Tank entrepreneur & Creator of BeeSweet Lemonade, and locally-celebrated philanthropist Reverend Freddie Dixon.

AAYHF will also host its inaugural silent auction at the luncheon sponsored by some of Austin’s favorites such as: Kendra Scott, Whataburger, Olympic Champion Sanya Richards Ross, The Long Center, Russell Korman Jewelry and many others. Olympic medalist Marion Jones, will be the esteemed Keynote speaker. She will share her story of triumph and losses along the way that is sure to inspire everyone in the room-you won’t want to miss it!

The African American Youth Harvest Foundation’s Changing the Story Luncheon will be held at the Holiday Inn Midtown on Wednesday, October 28th from 11:30am-1:30pm. Ticket cost is $100.00 per person, or table sponsorships start at $1,500.00. 100 percent of the proceeds from this fundraising luncheon will support AAYHF’s youth programs. The African American Youth Harvest Foundation is a private 501(c)(3) non-governmental, nonprofit organization. Since its inception 9 years ago, AAYHF has helped at-risk youth with job readiness, in-school alternative suspension in an effort to reduce truancy violations for multicultural student populations, and reintegration into society for juvenile offenders by offering soft skill training and STEM programming.
