Career-driven, strong willed, Simone Strong Madison, is from a devoted Christian family. Having idolized her mother, she is devastated when her mother is institutionalized following a mental breakdown.

Simone can’t hide her anger and hurt…at her mother…at her church and…at God. Simone decides that since God turned his back on her, she is turning her back on God. ‘No Ordinary Days’ brings awareness to the mental illness crisis that is so prevalent today. It chronicles an African American family’s struggles to deal with mental illness and its impact on various family members.

This issue touches many African American families, community and church. However, when it comes to the awareness and treatment of mental illness, it has become a faith fight as well as a life crisis.
