All eyes are on Andrew Merritt with his recent promotion. The killing of another African American youth by a police officer has both the police department and the community wondering-is he Black or blue? And this new job…a step up or a set up?
Andrew Merritt is at a crossroad. As the recently appointed chief of the police department’s Community Liaison Bureau, he is at the pinnacle of his career. However, the glaring headline of another black youth killed by a police officer under questionable circumstances forces him into a difficult position.
Making his job even more difficult is his highly visible, activist brother, Hassan, who ignores Andrew’s situation and mounts a campaign for accountability and immediate police reforms. His efforts not only incite the community, it wreaks havoc with the already fragile relationship between the two brothers.
Andrew struggles between his allegiance to the police department where after 24 years of preparation he has an opportunity to step into his destiny or his loyalty to his family and community.
And is this opportunity really a step up…or a set up?
