First Take is an educational consulting firm that is about the business of acting. Jessica Sloan is the owner and creator of First Take. Jessica is a native Austinite who grew up in Southwest Austin. Jessica started her career as an intern at the Austin Film Society and then interned at Detour FilmProductions and Troublemaker Studios. She then found her way to casting, where she worked for Beth Sepko Casting/Third Coast Extras. She also found Heather Collier at Collier Talent Agency, where she started as an intern. Jessica loved both and discovered her passion for being an agent. She worked at Collier Talent for almost seventeen years when she found that the job wasn’t what she wanted anymore. She loves working with actors and advising them to further their careers. She decided to create First Take in 2023 and opened in January of 2024.
