The Nutcracker

With all the uncertainty in the world and for the arts, it brings us great joy to open our season with our unique telling of the beloved holiday classic, The Nutcracker.  We will be coming to you digitally this year, and you will be able to enjoy the beautiful performance from the safety and comfort of your home.

In our story, Clara has just turned eighteen and is excited about what her future holds.  During a holiday party, her world-traveling aunt arrives with amazing tales of travel, and Clara is immediately consumed with dreams of joining her.  However, her father has different plans for her future, and when the two face-off, Clara is forced to make a choice.  If she goes with her aunt she gets to see the world but leaving means hurting her family. What will Clara choose? Will the choice tear her family apart or bring them closer together?

The artists will be performing the ballet at the Carver Museum theater for video on November 21st; the digital “tickets” to this wonderful ballet are available for purchase now through December 11 at www.metamorphosisnutcracker2020.eventbrite.com. All ticket holders will receive a private link to view the performance as often as they like online from December 11 – December 24, 2020.

Though it certainly isn’t the same as live theater, of which we will continue when it is a safe and healthy option, this is a unique opportunity to engage and support the arts this holiday season.  By purchasing access to our production, you are ensuring that the art of dance survives this pandemic.  Follow us on social media to stay up to date about when and how you can watch The Nutcracker and also participate in our online silent auction.  We can’t do this without your support!
