Book publications include jo’s chapbook mouth (Neon Hemlock, 2021), which addresses the struggle of working through others’ views and dominant culture’s impact on the body and the self – from domestic violence on to personal liberation. Their first book, Michael + Josephine, a novel in verse (FlowerSong Press, 2019), reimagines St. Michael the Archangel as a queer woman who begins a love relationship with Josephine, a disaster relief worker. the matchstick litanies, their forthcoming book through Next Page Press, follows the author’s upbringing. Red Salmon Arts is a 501(c)3 grassroots cultural arts organization, with a thirty-year history of working with the indigenous neighborhoods of Austin. RSA is dedicated to the development of emerging writers and the promotion of Chicanx/@/Latinx/@/Native American literature, providing outlets and mechanisms for cultural exchange, and sharing in the retrieval of a people’s cultural heritage with a commitment to social justice.
