Old Masters/Modern World: Gods Behaving Badly

Join Chrissy Zappella, Blanton Fellow of European Art, Painting and Sculpture, for an in-depth discussion of two mythological paintings that uses historical context as well as technical and stylistic examination to analyze themes of gender and sexual politics in the ancient, early-modern, and contemporary world. This is our first “Old Masters/ Modern World” lecture, a series of talks that critically explore the continued relevance of centuries-old artworks to the lives of viewers today.
