ABOUT THE SHOW:
a part of it is the story of a ghost named Tommy from 1999, who confronts his best friend Jackie, in the present. a part of it is a dark comedy with song that centers two teenagers, the ghost Tommy from the past and Jackie’s daughter Val in 2023. ABOUT THE ARTISTS: jkjk is married couple Jenny Larson-Quiñones and khattieQ. They began working together in 2015 and have shared their work around the world, from Finland to New York to Missouri. Their piece Catalina La O was the Vancouver Fringe New Play Prize Winner (2020) and has been presented at OUTsider Fest (2022 & 2023), Ars Nova’s ANT Fest (2022), and Queer Arts Festival (2022).
a part of it (formerly titled always boy) has been developed in part with the support of The New Harmony Project 2022 writers conference, as part of the West Coast Canadian Digital Dramaturgy Initiative 2021, as part of NYC’s Workshop Theatre: Fall Intensive 2021, the GVPTA’s Digital Connections 2021 cohort, and developed with support from ScriptWorks’ Revision Resource funding.
