May Pang Pop Up Exhibition

Join Ao5 Gallery for a 3-day pop-up photography exhibition featuring 30 candid John Lennon photos taken by May Pang, Lennon’s lover during his 18-month “Lost Weekend” period (1973-1975). May Pang will be at opening night as well as the Saturday and Sunday exhibition!

Opening Friday, December 1st 12-6pm including cocktails with May Pang from 5-7pm.
Exhibit Open to the public Saturday, December 2nd 12-6pm
Closing Sunday, December 3rd 12-5pm

During her time with John Lennon, May worked with Lennon and friends such as David Bowie, Elton John, Phil Spector, Mick Jagger, Harry Nilsson as well as Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. She brought John’s son Julian back into his life after 3 years apart and also helped bring John together with his old Beatle bandmate Paul McCartney.

Some of the highlights of the exhibition are the only photograph that exists of John Lennon signing the contract to dissolve the Beatles and the last known photograph of John Lennon and Paul McCartney together (March 29, 1974).

There is a documentary released in April 2023 entitled The Lost Weekend: A Love Story featuring May’s and Lennon’s story. The documentary will be released on DVD and streaming platforms on October 13th. See the trailer here.
