Free Concert: Texas Rising Stars

Accompanied by the Austin Civic Orchestra, UT junior Sara Aldana will perform the first movement of Camille Saint-Saëns’s Violin Concerto No. 3 in B minor, Op. 61, and senior Corina Santos will perform the first movement of Aram Khachaturian’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra.

The program includes Camille Saint-Saëns’s Bacchanale from Samson et Dalila, Samuel Barber’s First Essay for Orchestra, and Roydon Tse’s Sinfonia Concertante — the U.S. premiere of this piece. Tse is an acclaimed Canadian composer, pianist and educator.

Before the concert and during intermission, a string quartet comprised of high school musicians will play as part of the orchestra’s Amster Chamber Music program.
