Request for Qualifications: Austin Convention Center Parking Garage

The City seeks to commission an artist to create a permanent public artwork for the Austin Convention Center’s parking garage on the building exterior at the corner of Brazos and 2nd Streets. The project will engage the entire height of the parking garage and presents the opportunity to create a new landmark at a highly visible downtown intersection. The artwork should reflect the mission of the ACC to promote Austin as a premier destination, energize the urban fabric of the street intersection, and employ integrated design approaches and/or sustainable materials in the creation of the artwork. Professional artists who live in the Austin metropolitan area (Travis, Willamson, Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Burnet, and Blanco counties) are eligible to apply. Budget: $74,000
