The Sarofim School of Fine Arts

Housed in the Alma Thomas Fine Arts Center of Southwestern University, The Sarofim School of Fine Arts has its roots in the University’s original School of Music established in 1888. Southwestern University’s Sarofim School of Fine Arts iSouthwestern’s 700-acre campus is located in historic Georgetown, By the late 50s, the Music, Art, and Theatre Departments merged into the Fine Arts Center.  Fayez Sarofim, lagely responsible for building the university’s endowment, inspired the school’s name. The Alma Thomas Fine Arts Center includes the Alma Thomas Theater, The Mary Gibbs Jones Theater, Caldwell-Carvey Foyer, and the Sarofim Fine Arts Gallery.
