Alma Thomas Theater

The activities of The Sarofim School of Fine Arts, a separate school of fine arts supported by Southwestern University, are centered in the Alma Thomas Fine Arts Center which includes the Alma Thomas Theater, The Mary Gibbs Jones Theater, Caldwell-Carvey Foyer, and the Sarofim Fine Arts Gallery.

The Sarofim School of Fine Arts is named for arts benefactor Fayez Sarofim of Houston. Erected in 1956 and gift of the late Mrs. Alma Thomas of Austin, Texas, a longtime trustee of the University, the three-story Alma Thoma Fine Arts Center contains two theaters, a recital hall, art gallery, offices, studios, practice rooms, and offices for the Art and Art History, Music and Theatre Departments.
