Auditorium Shores

Auditorium shores is a great multi-use park located very close to downtown Austin. Attend events, concerts, and festivals throughout the year at Auditorium Shores! The park also features an off-leash dog park and is an excellent place for recreation! You can also visit the Stevie Ray Vaughan memorial statue!

Inner Space Cavern

Inner Space Cavern was discovered by a Texas Highway Department core drilling team in the Spring of 1963. While drilling through 40 feet of solid limestone, the bit broke into what is now known as Inner Space Cavern. An adventurous employee of the highway department was lowered into the hole while standing on the drill bit and holding tightly to the stem. He was the first human being to enter INNER SPACE. What an exciting voyage this must have been!

Johnson Creek Trailhead

Complete with extensive, historically inspired landscaping, the original living, parlor, dining and garden rooms of the villa are available for use, complete with all the necessities of modern convenience: a catering kitchen, elevator and expanded restroom facilities. The Driscoll Villa makes a spectacular backdrop for your special event. The Solarium Located on the second floor of the Driscoll Villa, the Solarium has windows on all sides, overlooking the grounds of Laguna Gloria. This room makes a perfect spot for luncheons, small meetings and a bride’s room.

Lockhart City Park

The Parks and Recreation Department maintains all seven parks in Lockhart, totaling 94.9 acres. Our services include mowing, tree trimming, litter pick-up, watering, and building maintenance. The City Parks department also maintains the city cemetery. We have many activities in our various parks. We have playscape equipment, picnic tables, ball fields, and a public swimming pool. The swimming pool and sheltered areas in the the city park are available for rental for those interested in private parties.

Longview Park

APF takes a hands-on approach to making improvements to over 19,000 acres of parkland. We help the City of Austin Parks & Recreation Department by organizing volunteer labor, in-kind donations, financial support from grants, individual members, and business sponsorships. We believe that public/private partnerships are one of the best ways to preserve public lands for future generations.

Mercury Hall

Nestled on a secluded hilltop just minutes from downtown Austin, Mercury Hall offers an idyllic setting for a variety of occasions. This historic structure was built in 1904 in Mercury, Texas, and was moved to its current location in 1997. The Hall plays host to weddings, special events, fundraisers and performances.

Elizabeth Milburn Community Park consists of 42.4 acres and offers a playground, picnic tables, a large picnic shelter, small picnic shelters, barbecue pits, one-mile walking / jogging trail, sand volleyball courts, a basketball court, tennis courts, washer pits, restrooms, soccer fields, open field space, baseball backstops, community garden, 4/10 mile veloway, a recreational BMX track, a swimming pool, and a rock climbing wall.

O. Henry Museum

Pflugerville Lake

The lake is open for fishing, swimming, jogging, canoes, kayaks and wind surfing. With seven fishing piers all around, it’s a peaceful location to find that “big one” that won’t get away! Lake Pflugerville Park includes a 3-mile walking/jogging trail, playground, boat launch, pavilion and beach area. Come out and enjoy the outdoors in our backyard! (No motorized power boats or glass bottles, please.) Fishing is permitted for youth ages 16 and younger without a fishing permit per Texas Park & Wildlife rules.

Republic Square

Republic Square is one of the three squares that were part of Austin’s original layout of the city. Since its establishment, the park has been transformed into a parking lot and then back to a park in 1974 when the Sierra Club and the Parks and Recreation Department decided to restore the property to its original form. The park is located in downtown Austin and is a great place to relax, attend fun events year round, and even grab a bite to eat at the newly opened Salt & Time cafe.

Rosewood Neighborhood Park

Rosewood Neighborhood Park is located in East Austin. Enjoy the park’s swimming pool, playground, splash pad, tennis courts, baseball field, the Delores Duffle Recreation Center, and the Doris Miller Auditorium. The auditorium hosts various events, classes, meetups, performances, and much more throughout the year!

San Gabriel Park

Meandering right through the very heart of Georgetown is the San Gabriel River. What better place to find one of the most beautiful parks in the State of Texas. San Gabriel Park is graced with 200 year-old oak trees that offer the shade of their branches to family picnics, games of touch football or frisbee, concerts, festivals, canoeing, swimming and fishing. For those with a little more energetic spirit, there’s a new wooded 1-mile hike and bike trail that wanders along the North Fork of the San Gabriel River from San Gabriel Park to the new Rivery Park west of I-35. Or take the popular 3-mile hike and bike trail following the South Fork of the San Gabriel from San Gabriel Park to Blue Hole.

Shipe Neighborhood Park

Shipe Neighborhood Park is located in the lovely Hyde Park neighborhood of central Austin. It features tennis courts, picnic areas, and a playground. Two new pools are currently being constructed and will be open mid-July 2019. Sparky Pocket Park

A former electric substation that was converted into a unique and lovely park featuring cool junk art. The park is located just south of 38 ½ Street, two blocks west of Duval Street in the North University Neighborhood.

The Contemporary Austin - Laguna Gloria

Laguna Gloria offers a unique experience of history, art, and nature. Visitors are welcome to explore the sculpture park and special exhibitions as well as the 1916 Italianate-style Driscoll Villa and historic gardens and grounds.

The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment

The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment is owned and operated by Texas State University-San Marcos under the direction of the River Systems Institute. Located along the headwaters of the San Marcos River and Spring Lake the grounds have long been recognized for their natural beauty and relaxing atmosphere. Spring Lake historic glass bottom boats, diving, and the Education Center are all here. The park can be reserved for special events by Texas State University-San Marcos and the general public when it is not being used for Educational Tours or events. Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park

Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park is located in North Austin. The expansive public park features a wealth of natural hiking/walking trails, a swimming pool, recreational sports areas (for volleyball, basketball, and softball), an off-leash dog area, a playground, picnic tables, and BBQ pits.
