The Barbara Jordan Terminal

Named in honor of the late Barbara Jordan, Austin educator, first black woman elected to the Texas Senate and three-time Congresswoman, the main terminal of the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport features art, exhibits, restaurants and shops with a local flavor. A central courtyard area features a stage where Austin musicians perform. Changing art and cultural exhibits welcome thousands of passengers to Austin by communicating numerous literal and symbolic references to the region’s geography, landmarks, history, diverse cultures, and the spirit of the people and what they hold valuable.
