Austin artist James Talbot, has recently finished this public art piece, “Transition,” on the two pedestrian bridges which link the ABIA airport terminal to the close-in parking garage. The work consists of large sun and earth mosaics on each end of the bridges and smaller confetti-like pieces symbolizing air, earth, fire and water, linked by a jagged line embedded with glass. The work is intended to “give a festive, celebratory send-off to those embarking on a journey” and make the traveler aware of the phases of arrival and departure.
