Heal in Comfort was started by Cherie B. Mathews, after her own battle with breast cancer. Mathews is now a 12-year survivor, and designed the shirt based on what she wished she had had during her surgery recovery. She also created a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization that provides these specialized post-operative recovery healincomfort shirts to breast cancer patients as a gift to speed their recovery.
