The goals of the Austin Tango Society include: supporting educational and practice opportunities for those currently or potentially interested in Argentine Tango; supporting the efforts of local tango teachers and musicians who depend for their livelihoods on the base of Tango aficionados; providing a neutral and far-reaching information base with respect to Argentine Tango activities in Texas; and helping other organizations which are attempting to serve the Argentine Tango community
