The mission of the Asian American Resource Center (AARC) is to provide public resources, collaborative and educational programming, and a cultural destination for Austin’s Asian and Asian American community. As the City of Austin’s newest cultural facility is housed within the Parks and Recreation Department, the AARC represents a long-awaited dream for many in the community, which was made possible through an Austin voter approved 2006 Bond Package with an investment from the U.S. Commerce Department’s Economic Development Administration.
