Texas Artist Series: Blind Lemon's Last Blues

Texas Artist Series: Blind Lemon's Last Blues

Presented by Bullock Texas State History Museum at Bullock Texas State History Museum

Experience the rich diversity of Texas’s cultural heritage with the Bullock Museum’s Texas Artist Series, presenting performances of Blind Lemon’s Last Blues on June 30.

Blind Lemon’s Last Blues tells the story of the day the legendary and influential Texas blues singer Blind Lemon Jefferson, one of the earliest recorded blues performers, died in the snow in Chicago. It is a story of the deep human need to find purpose in the foibles of life.

The evening performance, beginning at 7 p.m., will include opening remarks from author and playwright Alan Govenar in addition to a reception and book signing following the show.

The Bullock Museum will also be offering a matinee performance with a reduced admission rate beginning at 2 p.m., and families are encouraged to attend.

Support for the Bullock Museum’s exhibitions and education programs provided by the Texas State History Museum Foundation.
