Everyone has heard the advice that you should pursue your passion, but sometimes that’s easier said than done. According to a new national survey from Capital One, a vast majority of respondents (93%) said they think it’s important that their career path aligns with their personal values. However, more than half (58%) agreed that they don’t feel like they have as much control as they would like in shaping their career path – and more than three quarters (77%) of respondents said that at some point in their career they’ve taken a job that didn’t align with their career values.

Capital One is on a quest to help people meet their money goals, while also motivating them to pursue their personal passions. As part of their new Money Coaching offering, they are launching a series of free, 1.5 hour group workshops aimed at helping participants identify their core values and using them to inform their next career move.

The “Mapping Your Own Career Path” workshops are coming to the Capital One William Cannon Branch on Saturday, June 24th. Led by lifestyle blogger and entrepreneur Gwen Lane of The LA Girl, the workshops will focus on how people at any stage of their career – whether they are just starting out, ready to make a change, or looking to pursue their own entrepreneurial venture – can tap into the core values that will lead them to a fulfilling career path. The workshop will include interactive programming, games, information sharing and more, all aimed at providing attendees with the skills and empowerment they need to map out their next career move.
