Jim Hodges’s sculpture With Liberty and Justice for All (A Work in Progress) is a pledge, a call to action, and a platform for dialogue. Join us we consider this work of art in the context of films about intersectional LGBTQ themes.

A foundational film of contemporary queer cinema, The Watermelon Woman—about a young black lesbian working a day job at a video store while trying to make a film about an obscure 1930s black actress known for playing the stereotypical roles relegated to black actresses of the period—remains astonishingly cutting-edge twenty years after its release.
