ACC MBPT Summer Workshop for High School Students

An introduction to audio production. Lecture and discussion on how a commercial “pop” song is conceived, constructed, and produced – from initial inspiration, rough sketch, demo, and final recording & mixdown. Discuss the various people and responsibilities involved from a vocational point of view. Responsibilities of producer, songwriter, band member, studio musician, and recording engineer will be discussed. Various styles of music and their approaches will be discussed. After that, we’ll record a rock, pop, or hip-hop track, make a commercial, and re-mix songs.

Open to all high school students who will be sophomores, juniors, and seniors during the school year beginning August 2017. Spring 2017 graduates may be considered if the student is interested in attending ACC.
