Street Corner Arts returns to its roots with its third Jason Wells’ play Perfect Mendacity playing at Hyde Park Theatre from April 7th thru April 22th.  The recipient of the prestigious 2010 American Theatre Critics Association M. Elizabeth Osborn New Play Award for an emerging playwright, Jason Wells crafts tight, socio-political satire bristling with energy, incisiveness, and humor.

After an incriminating memo has been surreptitiously leaked to the media, Walter Kreutzer, a microbiologist for a major defense contractor, comes under unwelcome scrutiny. Forced to succumb to a lie detector test by his employers, Walter enlists polygraph expert D’Avore Peoples to help exonerate himself and his Moroccan wife, Samira. But does he or his wife have something to hide? Why seek a lie detection coach in the first place? In Perfect Mendacity, Mr. Wells with characteristic razor-wit and verbal wizardry explores the ramifications of duplicity and self-deception. To whom do such consequences create the most damage? The deceived or the deceiver?
