Art, music, food, and lots of free kids’ activities? Violet Crown Spring Festival has it all! Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 6th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This fun festival will be held in Brentwood Park (6710 Arroyo Seco, access from Yates). Admission is free.

The festival – staged by Violet Crown Community Works (VCCW) – will feature local art and craft vendors, family fun, children’s activities, live music, and refreshments. The festival’s major sponsors are Amy’s Ice Cream, Body Business, Burnet Road Storage, and Grande Communications.

The schedule of entertainment will include music from Feet First, Jungle Jill and the Jaybirds, The Soulies, Timothy Abbott and Arcana Mundi, Groundwork Music Orchestra, Evening Optimist, and Will Courtney. Children will have the opportunity to meet and learn from the Tree Man, who is a wonder and delight for all ages.

Other offerings include jugglers, face painting, and community-sponsored activities like life-sized Jenga and chess, hula hoops, Legos, gardening, spin art, many different craft stations (now’s your chance to make that Mother’s Day gift!), and ladder golf.
