“UMLAUF After Dark,” Tuesday, April 4, at 6:30 p.m., features an Insights program, “Friends of Farrah,” with four panelists sharing memories about Farrah Fawcett’s life and art-making. The panelists are Sylvia Dorsey and Gray Hawn, both longtime friends of Farrah since UT-Austin; Karen Spelling, childhood friend of Farrah from Corpus Christi and UT-Austin; and Greg Walls, Farrah’s nephew and caretaker of her personal archives.
Free and open to the public “UMLAUF After Dark” occurs the first Tuesday of each month, 6-8 p.m., at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum, offering visitors a chance to experience the evening environment of the sculpture garden and museum gallery, which currently features the “Mentoring a Muse” exhibition, in addition to monthly themed activities, food, and entertainment.
The recently opened “Mentoring a Muse” is a groundbreaking exploration of the lifelong artistic friendship between Charles Umlauf and his most famous student, Farrah Fawcett. This pioneering exhibition features never-before-seen work made by both artists from the UMLAUF, private collections, and a generous loan from the Blanton Museum of Art, The University of Texas at Austin, Bequest of Farrah Fawcett. The show runs through August 20 at:
