Distinguished Lecture: Eric Booth

Distinguished Lecture: Eric Booth

Presented by MINDPOP at AISD Performing Arts Center, Black Box Theatre

At this free and open-to-the-public speaking event, Eric Booth will discuss how creative engagement can – and should – be present in all learning situations, both in and outside schools. Drawing from his book, Playing for the Lives: The Global El Sistema Movement for Social Change Through Music, Eric’s talk will be relevant to educators, artists, parents, and anyone interested in the possibility and impact of creative learning. This event features a special performance by Austin Soundwaves. Sign interpretation will be available.

Following the event, Eric will lead a professional development workshop for teachers teaching artists on how to nurture your skills with creative engagement, such as flexible thinking, empathy, brainstorming, inquiry, and multi-sensory learning. Learn more about Eric Booth at www.ericbooth.net. We are so excited to have him with us.

MINDPOP’s Distinguished Lecture Series is made possible in part by the support of the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department, Applied Materials Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
