Presented by Concordia University Texas at Unknown

Concordia University Theatre presents The Way of Water, by 2010 OBIE Award-winner for Lifetime Achievement, Caridad Svich.

Svich’s The Way of Water, running March 2-5, is a play that pits the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon 2010 BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico next to the lives of those affected by it. It’s a story about four people making do as best they can, living their lives, and trying to stay afloat in the land of many compromised dreams, as the devastation of a health and environmental crisis scandal in the US Gulf is played out on a human scale. It’s a play about poverty in America, rumors and truth, what is said and what gets written, and the quest for an honorable life.

The production team includes: Nathaniel Fomby (as Jimmy), Toure’ Manning (as Rosalie), TJ Stewart (as Yuki), Emily Sandler (as Neva), Tim Peterson (stage manager), Thomas Greinert (assistant stage manager), Rachel Stanford (dramaturg), and Brittany Drews (properties manager).

The Way of Water will be staged by the Director of Fine Arts, Dr. Kelly Carolyn Gordon, and assistant directed by sophomore Cooper Kelm, with lighting design by Kristen DuBois.  The play will be performed March 2-4 at 7:30 pm and March 5 at 2 pm.  For general admission, single play tickets are $10. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.  Appropriate for adult audiences.
