"Crone" - for Chamber Orchestra: A music score to the upcoming Virtual Reality film "Crone"

Presented by Red Nightfall Productions at Bates Recital Hall

A collaboration between faculty and students across the College of Fine Arts, Crone is a hybrid: part dance film, fashion film, music video that uses orchestral music and movement to tell a story in the exciting new medium of Virtual Reality.

Set in a fantasy environment, Crone tells the story of a young woman who loses everything and must choose between forgiveness and revenge.

Please join us in the first stage of this creative process: a concert of the film’s original score, composed by Sam Lipman, M.F.A. in Composition in the Butler School of Music. The performance by the Prismatix ensemble and guests will be accompanied by an exhibition of costumes from the film created by Aaron Kubacak, M.F.A. in Costume Design in the Department of Theatre and Dance.

Admission to this concert is free, and donations will be accepted to support the project.

The film is conceived and produced by Department of Theatre and Dance Lecturer Dorothy O’Shea Overbey.  The film will be shot with 360-degree capture technology and will be released both as a traditional film in theaters and as a virtual reality experience for viewing across various platforms.
