Celebrate Urban Birds with the Ney again this year! There will be fun family birding activities as well as bird counts at 1:00 and 3:00. At 2:00, listen to “The Birdchasers,” a lecture from Kevin Anderson with the Austin Water Center for Environmental Research at Hornsby Bend. Kevin’s talk will focus on the history of birdwatching in Austin, from Roy Bedichek to Robin Doughty and the places and changes they have seen. Bedichek and J. Frank Dobie kept track of birds on Waller Creek for instance, and, of course, those at Barton Springs. This should be a fascinating program!
IT’s also produced in cooperation with the Austin Nature & Science Center,Travis Audubon, and Certified Austin Master Naturalists.
