AUDIO DESCRIPTION TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR PERFORMANCES

VSA Texas is conducting a two-day Audio Description training for individuals interested in becoming professional Audio Describers. This training takes place Saturday, February 25, 2017, 9:30am – 4:30pm, & Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 1- 4pm. AGE of Central Texas building, 3710 Cedar St., Room 161, Austin, TX 78705.  Cost: $55 (includes handouts, Saturday lunch). Special 25% discount for organizations enrolling two or more persons.

Over the past 19 years, VSA Texas has been offering audio description services on a regular basis at Central Texas theaters, museums and movie theaters. Audio description is the verbal translation of visual information for people who are blind or have low vision.

Presenter Celia Hughes is the Executive Director of VSA Texas and co-founder of the Audio Description Coalition, an international organization dedicated to promoting quality audio description training and services. She has been a professional describer for 14 years, and has conducted describer trainings across the country and around the world. She recently performed live audio description as part of the Inclusion By Design concert at the 2016 Americans for the Arts Conference in Boston, MA.
