“Demystifying Intricately Plotted Mysteries” with Sherry Thomas

“Demystifying Intricately Plotted Mysteries” with Sherry Thomas

Presented by Writers' League of Texas (WLT) at Online/Virtual Space

There’s often an expectation that mysteries, because of their twists and turns, require a detailed outline, but this class will offer strategies for creating and finding conflicts as you go. We’ll discuss how to build a well-paced, well-structured mystery organically by drawing on what a writer already knows about storytelling and characters-in-conflict. We’ll also complete in-class writing exercises that touch on many aspects of mystery writing, including how to construct a mystery from the ground up.

TAKE THIS CLASS IF

You’re writing mystery novels.
You’re not a fan of outlining.
You’re looking for tips on plotting as you go.
You want to add mystery elements to your work.

The deadline to register for this class is Friday, May 3 at 5:00 PM CDT.
