Narrative Realism: How to Tell a Story Through Painted and Applied Imagery

Narrative Realism: How to Tell a Story Through Painted and Applied Imagery

Presented by Neill-Cochran House Museum at Neill-Cochran House Museum

The Neill-Cochran House Museum invites you to a full-day workshop that teaches us how to develop a personal narrative and express it through mixed media art. This workshop teaches artists how to access their own narrative, giving it a voice, relevance, and expression.
The workshop will be led by studio artist Lawrence Jolly. Jolly holds a BFA in design and was the recipient of a 2016 City of Austin Peoples Choice Award. His exhibition of mixed media artwork, Texas Lost and Found, is on display at the Neill-Cochran House Museum until May 26, 2024.
Tickets: $175/person (includes all materials)
Get tickets at: www.nchmuseum.org/nchm-events/jolly-workshop
All materials including paints, brushes, canvases, and an easel will be provided for a successful and enjoyable workshop, however, participants are encouraged to bring some “found objects” from their lives that will give their artwork a personal element.
There will be a one-hour break for lunch. Lunch is not included with the workshop. Drinks and light refreshments will be available.
Texas Lost and Found will be on display at the Neill-Cochran House Museum through May 26, 2024. The Museum is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
