The Bowie Project: A Rock & Roll Soundpainting

The Bowie Project: A Rock & Roll Soundpainting

Presented by Andrea Ariel Dance Theatre at Ironwood Hall

Following two critically acclaimed runs of The Bowie Project in 2014 & 2015 Andrea Ariel Dance Theatre, together with Super Creeps the Austin-based David Bowie tribute band and New York City-based Strike Anywhere Performance Ensemble, will blend their talent and passion once again for the final Austin performances of The Bowie Project: A Rock & Roll Soundpainting in a tribute to David Bowie. Accompanied by the unmistakable sounds of the music legend, the imaginative production takes the audience on an enthralling journey of dance and theater in a rock & roll concert drawing extensively on Bowies life and music. No two shows are the same in this exciting, unpredictable theatrical and musical experience.

The Bowie Project appeals to dance and theatre audiences, as well as music and Bowie fans of all ages. The concert, featuring Bowie songs written between 1969-1977, will spark curiosity and unearth an interest in the art of Soundpainting- the craft of live composition through a sign language used to lead improvised performances among musicians, actors, dancers, visual and media artists.

The show is followed by a music set of additional songs by Super Creeps, to which audience members are invited to dance.

The show will run from Thursday, 26th January till Sunday, 29th January at 8:00pm with Sunday;s performance starting at 5:00pm
