The Untitled Avant-Garde Theater Project With a Really Long Title

The Untitled Avant-Garde Theater Project With a Really Long Title

Presented by The Hideout Theatre at The Hideout Theatre

An impromptu experiment in authenticity, a fine line between pretension and intention. (Also an improv show at The Hideout Theatre.)

This is what The Untitled Avant-Garde Theater Project with a Really Long Title (Saturdays November 26th through December 17th at 6pm) is.

What happens with a group of theater-makers set out to parody the artform they love so? (Each week they will create a show from scratch that has never been seen before and will never be seen again). The Untitled Avant-Garde Theater Project with a Really Long Title is directed by B. Iden Payne award winning director Jon Bolden (a very serious Austin award to be sure).

How long until they find themselves entrenched in what they seeked to satirize, drop their guard, and create a play for us. (Yes, the name of the show is The Untitled Avant-Garde Theater Project with a Really Long Title)

Before they know it, as they pluck characters from thin air, a story emerges, motifs abound. (What’s the joke here? Is this the joke? Are they in on the joke? Are you?) All the things we love about performance are subject for their playful roasting.
