A SONG FOR YOU: THE AUSTIN CITY LIMITS STORY

A SONG FOR YOU: THE AUSTIN CITY LIMITS STORY

Presented by Austin Film Society at Bullock Texas State History Museum

The Austin City Limits show was a small public television program that became an international phenomenon, changing the way the world saw Austin, and shining a light on the city’s local music scene. Looking back on it’s 40 year history, the show’s originators tell the distinctly Austin story of how Austin City Limits became television’s longest running music show. Featuring performance highlights from throughout the history of the show from the likes of Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and Ray Charles, all the way to Beck and the Alabama Shakes, Austin filmmaker Keith Maitland has made a celebratory but deeply affecting portrait of a vital piece of Austin heritage.
