A Bollywood Music and Fusion Concert

BOLLYWOOD AND  BEYOND

On November 13th we will be presenting a show called Bollywood and Beyond featuring the famous Bollywood singer Kavita Krishnamurthy and internationally famous violinist Dr.L. Subramaniam in Westlake High School theater. They will be accompanied by bass guitar, keyboard and other ensemble. Dr. L. Subramaniam is an acclaimed Indian violinist, composer and conductor. He is trained in the classical Carnatic music tradition and Western classical music and he is renowned for his virtuoso playing and compositions. Since 1971, Subramaniam Since 1971, Subramaniam has amassed over 200 recordings and collaborated with musicians including Yehudi Menuhin, Stephani Grapple and Herbie Hancock.

Kavita Krishnamurthy is one of India’s most famous Bollywood film playback singers. She has s worked with a variety of music composers, including R. D. Burman and A. R. Rahman. She has won four Filmfare Best Female Playback Awards and the prestigious Padmashri, which she received in 2006.
