A Celtic Invasion is Coming to Central Texas November 5 & 6 with the Austin Celtic Fest

 

Come celebrate the cultures of Celtic nations such as Ireland and Scotland with four stages of traditional music and dance as well as storytelling, Celtic animals, professionally instructed music workshops and a full Highland Games competition.

 

The 20th Annual Austin Celtic Festival (ACF) returns November 5th and 6th with plenty of fun-filled events the entire family will enjoy.  The largest gathering of Celts in Central Texas is located at the Fiesta Gardens in downtown Austin, this critically acclaimed event brings together the cultural traditions of Ireland and Scotland including music, dancing, Highland Games and storytelling.  A full series of music, dance and historical workshops are also available from beginner to master class in instruments like fiddle, guitar, banjo, bodhran and Irish pipes.

Tickets are available online only at http://www.austincelticfestival.com  Discounts on tickets are available through Halloween with a donation to the Austin Celtic Assn.  Kids 12 and under get in free.

The ACF will also including many forms or traditional Celtic dancing including the Hill Country Highland Dancers, the Austin Scottish Dance Society, and Austin’s number one Irish dance team the Inishfree Austin.  Dance workshops will also be held throughout the festival and free for all ages.  Visit www.austincelticfestival.com/dance/ for more information and schedules.

The ACF also features events for all ages including animal displays featuring Celtic dog breeds, and miniature horses.

Christmas is around the corner and the festival grounds will be populated with over 50 Celtic crafts and artisan merchants along with food vendors and two beverage booths serving international draft beers like Guinness, Harp and Smithwicks.

Full competition Highland Games both days, Viking Invasion combat demos, a Celtic campsite from the Texas Coritani, Greenwoode Archery are also in the park during the fest.  Visit the website for schedules of all four of our stages.
