The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar is an 11-day shopping destination featuring national and local award-winning artists, with live music and two full bars in a festive, lively atmosphere. This annual tradition and cultural icon is one of Austin’s longest running art and music festivals attracting around 40,000 shoppers each year. It all adds up to a fun authentic Austin experience.

Enjoy at least three bands per day on the Armadillo stage with set times for any lifestyle at 11am, 3pm and 7pm. Featured musicians include emerging stars, local legends and Grammy winners. Armadillo’s intimate stage allows you to experience Texas music all-stars in a rare holiday setting surrounded by friends and family. You’ll find shoppers dancing merrily in the aisles with gifts in one hand and a cold beer in the other.

Producer Anne Johnson has spent every Christmas Eve of her life at the Armadillo. “It wouldn’t seem like Christmas to me without it,” she says. “…and that’s not unusual. What’s great about Armadillo is that you have many families attending for decades now, yet it’s a perfect holiday shopping event for visitors and tourists as well. It is one of the few ‘old Austin’ traditions that has survived the influx of festivals and the cities’ rapid growth – and remained strong. As Austin has grown, so has our vibrant fine arts and live music community, and we are proud to be a part of that.” she says. “Plus, everyone loves a good party.”

The 2016 lineup includes 34 different bands/performers with 6 musicians new to the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar this year: Quiet Company, John Fullbright, Asleep at the Wheel, Shinyribs, Beto and the Fairlanes, Charlie Belle, Gina Chavez, Suzanna Choffel, DURAWA, The Eggmen, Ruthie Foster, Eliza Gilkyson, Emily Gimble, Terri Hendrix, Warren Hood, Shelley King, Bill Kirchen, Jai Malano, Jimmy LaFave, Los Coast, Uncle Lucius, Mary Hattersley’s Blazing Bows, Clay McClinton, Carson McHone, The Peterson Brothers, Sarah Pierce, Alpha Rev, The Rocketboys, Shinyribs, Jackie Venson, Dale Watson, Carolyn Wonderland and Ray Wylie Hubbard.
