Calaverita’s Glitter Tin Nichos

Presented by Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center at Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center.

Calaverita’s Glitter Tin Nichos | 10/22 | 1-3PM

Nichos, small, hand-painted miniature and sacred shadow boxes, have been a long-standing folk tradition within Latin American, specifically Mexico, dating back to Spanish-colonial times. Known for their religious iconography, nichos often depict sacred saints. In this workshop, participants will learn about the origins of nichos while creating a personalized, Day of the Dead-themed tin Glitter Nicho!
