In these three newly restored films, made between 1968 and 1973, the great American novelist, essayist, and activist James Baldwin’s travels and encounters with fellow intellectuals are documented in Istanbul, Paris, and London. The films in this program are JAMES BALDWIN: FROM ANOTHER PLACE (1973), MEETING THE MAN: JAMES BALDWIN IN PARIS (1971) and BALDWIN’S N****R (1968).
