Gelatin Printing with Angela Hayes

Gelatin Printing with Angela Hayes

Presented by Women Printmakers of Austin at Bone Black Studio & Gallery

Gelatin printing is a fun, inexpensive printing process that anyone can do. It can be used for fine art, crafting, scrapbooking and so much more. It encourages creativity and the use of unexpected materials from everyday life. It is also a great project to do with children. This workshop is for everyone! Those with little to no experience with gelatin printing will gain a good overview of skills needed for future experimentation at home and those with prior experience will learn new mark making techniques and hone their skills. This process is excellent for those who do not have access to a press or have limited time to commit to projects.

No experience is necessary for this user friendly process.

You will:

Learn how to create and care for a gelatin plate.
How to use block printing inks (Akua color and Speedball).
How to create and use stencils and other materials for printing.
Creating layers of texture, color, and multi-level composition.
