Dwayne Scheuneman is a professional dancer and second grade school teacher who uses a wheelchair.  After becoming disabled from a diving injury in 1995, Dwayne was thrust into an unexpected journey that led him to dance and teach across the country and around the world.

Based in Florida, Dwayne leads REVolutions Dance Company, created with the intention of uniting diverse communities of individuals with and without disabilities through movement, creativity, and artistry. Throughout his dance career, Dwayne has met people and built relationships that have taught him how creativity and movement can encourage and empower people and strengthen communities.  From teaching an impromptu dance class at a school for incarcerated teens in Vladivostok, Russia, to touring the US and conducting workshops for veterans in VA hospitals, Dwayne looks forward to joining us in Austin and sharing stories like these that have shaped his professional and teaching career.
