Earth Day Celebration at Vista Brewing

Earth Day Celebration at Vista Brewing

Presented by Vista Brewing at Vista Brewing

The first Earth Day was in 1970 to raise awareness for the global impacts of pollution and deforestation and is now celebrated by over one BILLION people! Here at Vista, we aspire to build environmentally friendly practices in our daily operations through our manufacturing, sourcing and business practices. Above all, we believe education is the most powerful tool we can use to help improve the world around us.
We invite you to celebrate Earth Day and learn with us on Saturday, April 22.
12 – 4 pm Scavenger Hunt around the 21 acres (FREE and family-friendly) with a wildflower seed package as the prize
3 – 4 pm Native Tree Planting Class and Demo (FREE, raffling 10 native tree saplings to class participants)
From 3 to 4 pm, our friend and native tree expert, John Pixler, native tree expert will be leading a free hands-on class on “Native Tree Selection and Best Practices for Planting Native Trees.” We will be planting several trees and shrubs across the unique biomes across the Vista property. Thanks to our fellow plant nerds, ten tree and shrub saplings will be raffled off to class attendees!
After teaching you how to plant them, we will raffle off a five gallon plant of each of the following:
Carolina BuckthornCedar ElmEve’s NecklaceGoldenball Lead TreeMexican BuckeyePossumhaw HollyTexas Mountain LaurelTexas PersimmonThroughout the day the whole family can enjoy a ecology-centric scavenger hunt around the Vista ranch. Let the kids search for native treasures like wildflowers, insects and feathers. Special prize of a wildflower seed packet from Native American Seed will be awarded to everyone who completes the hunt (while supplies last).
Whatever you do this Earth Day, please take a moment to take stock of the natural world around you. Feel the joy that flowers, plants, animals, lakes, the sky, sunsets – that Earth – brings to our every day lives. Please make choices in your everyday purchasing, conversations and investments that help preserve our Earth for generations to come.
