South Korean film director Hong Sang-Soo is a master of the self-incriminating relationship film; his gently comic stories often featuring a self-conscious director as the main character. In this latest, a story about a director’s visit to a small town film festival is told twice, forcing us to contend with our expectations of the film and it’s characters. Winner of the Locarno Film Festival’s top prize.
