Master Gardener Series - Growing Culinary Herbs

Master Gardener Series - Growing Culinary Herbs

Presented by TreeHouse at TreeHouse

Why grow herbs? Because they’ll add flavor to your cooking while also providing food for the local bees at the same time! Master Gardener Vicki Blachman will teach this class, covering cultivation basics and sprinkling in some tips for using your herbal harvest. We’ll also buzz by that bee connection and learn how to support your local bee populations.

Vicki Blachman is a former professional chef and manager of Hilltop Herb Farm who now serves as a Travis County Master Gardener. She has many years experience as a food stylist for film and print, and her work has been featured in several publications, including Bon Appetit, Gourmet, and Shape Magazine. As a contributing writer for the Texas Gardener Magazine, Vicki wrote a monthly article on the cultivation and use of culinary herbs. Vicki passionately gardens for pollinators and enjoys spreading the word on the culinary herb and bee connection.
